The point of the posts I linked regarding teh shield is that with (what he considers) a little pvp'n, an even better shield can be had, and it doesn't even have to be arena pvp.  I was even working on getting myself a little pvp gear when I started my WoW break, and some of you may recall how much I like pvp...
