Arcane Blast: Mana cost reduced by 12%.
Frost Bolt, Cone of Cold, Frost Ward, Ice Armor, Frost Armor, Frost Nova, Ice Lance, and Ice Barrier: The mana cost on these spells has been reduced by approximately 15%.
Invisibility: Can no longer be interrupted by a hostile action or damage done during the 3-second Fade time, however an invisible mage is still vulnerable to Stun and Silence effects.
Mirror Image: Images will no longer trigger the death sound when their time expires.
Talents
Fire
Empowered Fire: In addition to its existing effects, this talent now also grants a 33/67/100% chance to regain 2% of base mana each time the Ignite talent deals damage.
Frost
Empowered Frostbolt: Instead of increasing critical strike chance by 2/4%, this talent now reduces the cast time of Frostbolt by 0.1/0.2 seconds.
Permafrost: In addition to its existing effects, this talent now also causes the mage's Chill effects to reduce healing received by the victim by 7/13/20%.

So what it boils down to is that they are paying attention to none of our issues...


and that doesn't mention the massive nerf to T7 2P bonus...

Please understand that i'm not complaining, just don't quite understand thier logic sometimes.

They say we have mana issues, and that fire is too far ahead of frost and arcane, and so they do what? buff fire, and give frost an MS.

that 15% to ABlast, it will prolly only even out the way they messed with the T7 bonus.

I think the mana reduction to Arcane Blast from the patch outweighs the nerf to our T7 bonus.  Really, all it does is make me want to ditch my T7 pieces even faster.  I played on the PTR about three weeks ago, and while I didn't do any formal testing, Arcane felt much more mana efficient.  However, I still burned through my pool way faster than I do as fire.

Really, most of these changes are for pvp.  I know im looking for ward to decreased mana costs, better invis, faster frostbolts and 20% MS.  I think blizz is giving up on trying to make frost into any kind of pve spec lol

Every time a patch comes out now, i just go in hoping i dont get nerfed to shit. they seem to have given minor mana replenishments to arcane and fire, and thats about it. Im actually ok with that. We werent going to beat the warlocks, even without a 2pc t7 nerf, so Im not too upset. Someone has to be #1 deeps, and it will be mage's turn again eventually.  I am glad to see, as a 100% pve mage, that invis got pushed a little in the pve direction.  Now i have a RELIABLE aggro dump, instead of getting hit by some stupid 5 hp aoe 2 seconds in and having to run out the fight at 50% speed to stay under the tank.  I am not the most reliable tester of the new mana conservation changes anymore, since I am forced to take weeks off at a time, but Id love to hear how it affects you guys once you test it out.

I'll spend some time on the dummies for you Gani, I've got some good numbers from last week with the same gear on...

To be honest, I whish they would fix PvE frost, I'd switch in a heart beat. I loved raiding as frost in BC. I could never quite catch Gani, but I was getting close in the end. And the suvival of frost let me do stupid things everynow and then that the other mages I ran with couldn't.

And as mean as it sounds...it was always fun to be sitting and drinking while watching Gani and Mord being rezzed after the dancers....

While I don't have the numbers to post at the moment, I didn't see a decrese in mana efficiency for arcane at all this week. Even with the nerf to the T72P bonus, which I use quite often. If anything, I think my mana goes a little further now.

I am, however, very dissapointed in the amount of crit on the new tier, and the lack of haste.

Why are they making everyone go fire, or stay gimped?
